Duties:

Perform a variety of duties to clean and maintain cleanliness and organization at the campus indoor and outdoor that include but not limited to:

  • Sweep, mop, strip and wax floor
  • Clean and disinfect laundry rooms, restrooms, and shower room floor, walls and ceiling
  • Clean wash and disinfect plumbing fixtures
  • Clean and wash doors, windows, louvers and screens
  • Wash walkways, stairs and exterior walls, columns and ceilings
  • Dispose and clean trash bins, waste basket
  • Refill soap, toilet tissue and paper towel dispensers
  • Pick-up trash around the building exterior
  • Operate pressure washer and floor care equipment such as buffers and burnished
  • Use cleaning detergents and chemicals
  • Perform related duties as assigned including serving on committees.
Minimum Qualifications:

High School graduate with one year of building custodial services.  Knowledge of: Practices, tools and materials used in janitorial work. Ability to: Perform light to heavy manual work; lift and carry furniture, cleaning equipments and supplies occasionally. Ability to use floor care equipment and pressure washer. Understand and follow oral and written instructions; operate heavy industrial type cleaning equipment.  Demonstrated initiative to learn and carry out responsibilities. Demonstrated commitment to student success and experience in building strong relationships with students and staff.
