Duties:

Examples of work include but are not limited to the following: Monitor Computer Lab. Observe lab occupants upon entering and leaving the lab. Turn off machines/equipments and secure lab, enforce all lab policies, rules, and procedures. Run reports/statistics on program usage; report any hardware or software problems immediately to IT through the IC and follow up on such reports. Keep track of supplies and equipments and reorder as appropriate. Perform virus checks and updates. Provide technical support for faculty and students. Keep track of students’ work and assignments for faculty. Assist both faculty and students during scheduled class hours, and assist students during open lab hours. Serve on committees and perform other duties assigned.

Reporting: The lab monitor will report to the Instructional Coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications:

AA or AS in Education, Computer Information Systems, Liberal Arts, or related field from a US accredited college.  At least six months of experience monitoring the use of computers in a laboratory setting or similar setting. Demonstrate knowledge of computer hardware and computer applications. Ability to diagnose likely solutions to computer related problems. Must understand installation, configuration and troubleshooting process for software, hardware, networking and accessory equipment. Individual must have excellent communication skills. Physical Requirement: Individual must be able to lift and carry a desktop computer.
