Duties:

Reporting to the instructional coordinator, the incumbent will carry these responsibilities:

  1. Provide services at the circulation desk: prepares library for opening; check materials in and out using computer terminal; greet and direct patrons to various locations or locate materials; answer the phone; registers new patrons on library computer system; use computer terminal to provide information to users or explains how to use the library’s computer system; receive and resolve complaints or refers users to campus dean; collects and records fines and fees; assist supervisor with special projects.
  2. Circulation activities, preparing books and other materials for use in the library.
  3. Participate in staff meetings to discuss and resolve problems, ideas for improvement, and keep updated on library plans and activities; maintain main floor area in a clean and orderly fashion by maintaining displays, cleaning computers terminals and other general cleaning and/or organizing tasks; perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma with three (3) years of work experience. Has knowledge of the use of office programs and library automation program. Skills/ Knowledge/Abilities: to perform various clerical and technical library procedures, operate office equipment, understand, read, communicate and write in English. Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to deal with others in a tactful and polite manner.
