Duties:

Reporting Responsibility: Incumbent reports to the Campus Dean while working closely with the Director of Maintenance and Facility.

Duties: Generally responsible for the repairs and maintenance of the FMI facilities, including electrical installations, piping systems for water, sewage, classrooms, dormitory, cafeteria, office and staff buildings, multi-sport court in order to make them safe and ready for use, and in accordance with the Facilities Maintenance Plan. Plan, lay out and supervise the works of others including direct reports.  Instruct and demonstrate the proper work habits and etiquette. Estimate materials and labor costs, write reports to immediate supervisor and prepare requisitions.  Inspect work in progress and upon set pace and quality of workmanship. Assist in mowing the grass, landscaping of the campus, clearing or cutting down trees as necessary; keep the campus clean and beautiful. Serve on committees and perform other duties as assigned from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from a vocational/trade school in carpentry and electricity required and four years of progressively responsible work experience in performing a variety of building maintenance repair work or equivalent combination of experience and training. Must be knowledgeable in basic practices and methods in the repair of buildings, including safety procedures; knowledgeable in common tools, equipment and materials used in carpentry, plumbing, welding, mechanical and electro-mechanical trades; knowledgeable on electro-mechanical appliances used in homes and offices. Or a combination of education and experience that provides for the above.
