Reporting:

The Clerk Typist II reports directly to the CRE Coordinator on all matters as the immediate supervisor. For specific duties, e.g. vehicle log, telephone log, reports, and visitors log.  Work will be assigned and instructed by the CRE Coordinator or his designee for tasks as specified via telephone calls and clients’ visits and other visitors.  Other CRE staff may request for tasks within the duties of the Clerk Typist and as approved by the immediate supervisor. 

Duties:

Perform skilled typing and highly complex level of clerical work. Draft routine business letters and reports using prescribed format. Plans and carries out program activities/meetings as assigned.  Assists coordination of duties for work-study students at the office and submit observation and recommendation on how to improve the work-study program. Prepare purchase requests, travel authorizations, and other necessary documents. Performs secretarial functions for the CRE Office. Applies college procedures, regulations and policies. Serves on committees and performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
HS graduate with three years of clerical or related work. Associate of Arts/Science degree and two years of progressive work experience preferred. Successful completion of a substantially full-time curriculum of 1 year or more technical School and which includes courses in typing, basic English, arithmetic, general clerical procedures and office machines. Work experience should demonstrate competence in assisting in the administrative details of a program/office. Must have good organizational skills as may be determined visitation and/or interview; good English language proficiency, knowledge of basic word processing, spreadsheet and data base software, must be assertive, initiative, friendly, courteous and a team worker and must be willing to participate in training to upgrade skills and knowledge. Ability to work with numbers, communicate efficiently with clients. Preferred Qualifications: Associate of Arts/Science degree and two years of progressive work experience.
