Duties:

Reporting to the Residence Hall Manager, duties will include but not limited to:

  • Assist in the administration and direction of all activities associated with the operation of a residence hall at the College of Micronesia-FSM National Campus.
  • Assume responsibility for the hall in the absence of the Residence Hall manager.
  • Provide recommendations to Manager in the development of hall procedures and goals.
  • Assist in conducting staff meetings.
  • Provide direct supervision of residences assistant and student staff, including selection, training and evaluation.
  • Serve as an advisor and resource person to the hall associations to assist students with the planning of community, academic and personal development programs.
  • Attend bi-weekly residence meetings.
  • Work with the Residence Hall Manager in the initiation and evaluation of community, academic, and personal development programs.
  • Support and enforces all college and departmental policies and regulations.
  • Cooperate with the Residence Hall Manager, the student conduct board and campus security to carry out college rules and regulations.
  • Initiate and secure search authorization and conducts room search as required.
  • Actively participate on departmental committees as required.
  • Work in cooperation with other staff to provide 24 hour on-call area coverage. 
  • Serve on committees and perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:

An Associate’s degree in education, psychology or a similarly related filed from a US accredited institution with at least two years of work experience involving direct contract with students. Evidence of work experience that included event planning, report writing, organization, etc. Experience with emergency repose and crisis management. Special Skills, Abilities and Knowledge: Ability to appropriately handle stressful and/or emergency situation. Must be able to drive Class B1 vehicle. Must work within and support the guidelines and regulations of COM-FSM. Must have knowledge of preparing reports (incident, inventory, etc.). Demonstrated the ability to communicate and relate well with staff, students, parents, and the community. Be able to maintain professional and effective working relationship with staff and students. Demonstrated commitment to student success.
