Duties:

Area of Responsibility and Reporting Authority: The manager reports directly to the Comptroller and supervising staff at the National Campus Bookstore and co-supervisor account clerk at bookstore at remote campuses.  

The position is responsible for these responsibilities to run the bookstore and support instructional and the college.

  • Planning, organizing and managing bookstore daily operations, services and its activities.
  • Planning, coordinating, and expediting ordering of books, school/office supplies, clothing, sundries, and other merchandises.
  • Managing and maintaining the bookstore records of sales, expenditures, and its activities for internal/external audit purposes.
  • Developing, implementing, and making recommendations to improve the store’s operating policy and procedures.
  • Preparing and managing yearly bookstore budgets.
  • Training, supervising, and evaluating personnel.
  • Managing stock inventory and distributions to the state campuses/offices.
  • Handling of internal Purchase Orders for various offices.
  • Preparing and submitting monthly reports to the comptroller.
  • Ensuring operational sustainability by increasing sales and keeping costs at minimal.
  • Conducting site visits to store performance evaluation and assessment.
  • Attending committee and association meetings.
  • Promoting store image, college community relations, vendor relations.
  • Perform other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, management, accounting, or related field from a US accredited college with 5 years of full time progressive work experience in similar setting or retail management. Management experience: supervisory, purchase and inventory management. Software programs: Any point of sales and inventory management program, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, Email, etc. Special Skills/Abilities:  Evidence of good organizational skills and ability to work well with the public, must be able to work and achieve success independently or with minimal supervision. Evidence of excellence communication with a range of audience.
