Duties:

Under the direct supervision of the Program Director, the incumbent will:

  • Design, implement and manage the curriculum framework of the program that is in line with Pohnpei curriculum and benchmarks for the program’s academic component.
  • Design and implement the program’s counseling services such as high school and college preparation services, parental trainings and development.
  • Hire, supervise and train program instructors and tutors.
  • Develop timely program reports and data analysis.
  • Conduct timely benchmarks program evaluation and compliance checks.
  • Works closely with FSM and Pohnpei DOE chiefs, specialists, target school principals and teachers, parents, and the community.
  • Work with college personnel (OAR and FAO) for college matriculation and FAFSA.
  • Work closely with the Program Director on all aspects of day to day administration of the program.
  • Serve on relevant committees and perform other duties as may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from four year US College accredited college or university in Career Counseling, Educational Counseling, Social Science or related field and with at least one (1) year of progressive experience providing education services, counseling or assistance to students or related groups.  Foreign credentials must be equated to meet US standards in the field of assignment using World Education Services at http://www.wes.org. Knowledge and experience of strategic planning and problem solving in an educational setting that involves working with middle and high school students and/or have worked with a program similar to Talent Search Program. Software programs:  Word, Excel, Power-Point, Publisher, Access, and File-maker Pro. Possess good leadership skills to work with stakeholders and the Target school leaders and the Pohnpei DOE. Extensive knowledge of Federal TEIP program rules and regulations.
