Duties:

Under the college’s department of Enrollment Management and Student Services, and immediate supervision of the coordinator for sports and recreation, and the director for student life, the duties of the utility worker for sports and recreation include, but by any means not limited to:

  1. Perform routine manual work in cleaning and maintaining of the FSM-China Friendship Sports Center, including other sports and recreational facilities.
  2. Assist in the day-to-day operations of sports and recreation,  which includes but is not limited to laying-out and marking out fields for various sports events and practices, preparing equipment and proper paper works, and others.
  3. Perform a variety of manual work that include maintenance of landscaped grounds, cleaning adjacent sidewalks and other pave and unpaved areas around the FSM-China Friendship Sports Center, including other sports and recreational facilities of the college.
  4. Issue, receive, store and check athletic and other sports equipment, such as but by any means not limited to baseball, track, basketball, tennis, soccer, and others.
  5. Maintain inventory of athletic, sports and recreational equipment, including sports and recreational tools.
  6. Assist in preparing (or setting up) the FSM-China Friendship Sports Center for college’s events and activities, such as but is not limited to convocation, commencement exercises, orientation, and others, including other assigned areas for sports and recreational activities.
  7. Assist in the preparation and launching of sponsored on and off campus activities by other units or offices of the department of Enrollment Management and Student Services.

  9. As necessary, assist students and instructors in the sports program.
  10. Participate in coordinating transportation for all sports and recreational activities.
  11. Perform miscellaneous job-related works as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from a US accredited college with an associate degree.   Foreign credentials must be equated to meet US standards in the field of work using World Education Services at http://www.wes.org. One year of experience in utility works or general custodial work.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office, e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, including Publisher. Interpersonal skills, good memory, attention to detail, and able to follow oral and written direction.  Valid driver’s license.
