Under the supervision of the Executive Director for Institutional Advancment and External Affairs (IAEA), the Alumni Relations Coordinator & Development Officer is responsible for the efficient and effective coordination of alumni relations, development activities, and administrative duties of the IAEA Office.  

Duties:

Alumni relations:  Serve as an ambassador and be responsible for engaging alumni in related activities of the college. Major functional duties include but not limited to:

  1. Organizing alumni associations for the four state campuses; ensuring strong and productive relationships between its members and college leadership; serve as ex officio of the alumni association.
  2. Develop and maintain accurate and complete alumni database records; capture contacts, biographical and career information of alumni via surveys, such as alumni directory, correspondence, website, postal return, etc.
  3. Plan, implement and promote alumni programs that support the development of a strong and engaged alumni association.
  4. Establish and build relationship with a wide range of alumni (locally, regionally, nationally and internationally); maintain regular communication with alumni via direct contact, e-mail blasts, print publication, social and other relevant media.
  5. Educate students about alumni benefits, activities and engage them in programs.
  6. Partner with enrollment management and student services (EMSS) to provide career networking services for students and alumni.
  7. Oversee and balance the budget for alumni relations within the annual IAEA budget, manage existing and /or additional alumni programs, services and communications.
  8. Develop and coordinate fundraising activities funds for projects and events in support of IAEA. .
  9. Supervise work-study students and others and provide guidance to alumni volunteers.

Development: The Alumni Relations Coordinator & Development Officer fosters a culture of philanthropy (giving) within the college.  Maintain accountability standards for donors and funding sources necessitating maintenance of separate data and cross checking them against data maintained by the business office. Periodically, update the 5-Year Fundraising Strategy.  Major functional duties include but not limited to:

  1. Prepare fundraising materials and campaigns in support of the 5-Year Fundraising Plan; coordinate and conduct fundraising activities; distribute reports to donors and volunteers
  2. Develop and maintain fundraising database, including donor contact information, acknowledgements, and lists.
  3. Keep informed of best practices in philanthropy, development, and the non-profit sector
  4. Provide administrative support to the executive director.
  5. Update information on the college website.
  6. Provide input for IAEA planning.
  7. Assist the executive director in the development of relationships with donors, businesses, elected officials, and community organizations.
  8. Assist the executive director in developing and monitoring the IAEA budget.
  9. Perform other duties as assisgned.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, computer information system or related field from a US accredited college with at least 3 years of progressive work experience in the field of assignments. Management/Coordination Experience/Skills: Experience with project planning, budget development and management, excellent organizational skills, ability to take responsibility and function under minimal supervision, and ability to work efficiently with wide range of people (internal and external, local and internal, students, staff, faculty and administrators). Ability to read and write in English to produce reports. Ability to plan and coordinate multiple events concurrently. Software Programs: Knowledge and skills in the use and management of database/spreadsheet/word processing software (Microsoft), PowerPoint, and relevant publication programs. Special skills: Excellent communications and management skills, courteous, and culturally competent.Must have a valid driver license at the time of hire.  Knowledge of the college and culture is preferred.
