Duties:

Perform a variety of duties associated with general safety and security operation of campus and activities:  patrol campus facilities on foot or in vehicles to guard against theft, vandalism and fire; investigate vandalism, thefts and may detain suspects until police respond; assist police as appropriate, control and monitor vehicle traffic on campus and during college activities; prepare daily report of activities; maintain order and enforce regulations and policies at College’s events and facilities; direct visitors to appropriate areas; ensure the College’s safety and emergency procedures are followed daily and in response to fire alarm, bomb threats, and other emergencies; perform safety and protection programs for students and staff; make observations of damages to property and provide reports to person in charge to correct and fix problems; open buildings for authorized entries, and prepare a report of daily activities. Shift schedule will include working at night, evenings and weekends. Serve on related committees and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma with extensive full-time work experience in security and safety area of at least six (6) years; reporting [oral and written] experience, knowledge of and experience with data gathering and interaction with students and other personnel part of this position. Demonstrated commitment to student success and experience in building strong relationships with students and staff. AS degree in relevant areas with at least 3 years of full-time working experience in security and safety is preferred. No criminal convictions. Knowledge and ability to speak and write in English. Demonstrated successful ability to communicate with clarity and efficiency. Prior Military or Law Enforcement experience is a plus. Must have a valid driver’s license. Police clearance required.
