This position will work under the supervision of the HR Director to perofrm work that will focus primarily on benefit administration and packaging component under HR while secondary work assignments will be assigned/ added as needed to support other services under the office. New work is received in the form of specific instructions, but most work is carried out with considerable independence and consistent with established procedures and policies. Work is reviewed through weekly/monthly reports, weekly/daily consultation/meeting with supervisor and by observation of results achieved.

Duties:

Examples of work include but are not limited to the following:

  • Administration of all benefit programs under the HR; all institution benefit programs; optional benefit programs such as health insurance, life insurance, retirement plan, tuition wavier and reduction; recruitment/repatriation benefits such as travel and travel allowance, relocation, etc.;
  • File management, update and maintenance in hard copies and electronic of all the benefit programs in acceptable HR programs and procedures;
  • Notification and communication to and with employees, supervisors, and HR representatives and designated “ need to know” list established under HR using acceptable mode of communication at the college and HR. Notification of open season under relevant benefit program, compiling of enrollment/change forms for necessary submission to plan managers/administrators;
  • Reporting monthly, quarterly and annually on the benefit programs including cost analysis to advice college administration and recommend best options and changes;
  • Carry out other duties to support professional development program including procurement of goods, supplies, and services that may include the management of professional development contracts and related communications.
  • Maintain and update office electronic data files, including tracdat, Google files and back up weekly. Update data regularly as maybe established internally and advice Director with each update/back up.
  • Serve on committees.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, accounting, management or related field from a US accredited institution and two years of full time professional experiences in Human Resources or related field performing similar duties above. Evidencing Knowledge of: principles and practices of modern office management, file management, Access, PowerPoint, Microsoft word. Demonstrate Ability to: read/understand HR technical and legal jargon, understand and follow complex instructions; communicate effectively with diverse personnel; analyze, interpret, and use sound logic and judgment in application of a variety of administrative rules and HR regulations; work as part of a team in accomplishing tasks and functions in a small and fast pace environment. Demonstrate/Give examples of: commitment to student success and achieving organizational mission. OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience which can support the services and responsibilities under this position. Candidate hires under the combination of education and experience qualification will be required to enter into a professional development plan that will be linked to the employment contract to ensure candidate achieves the academic requirement.
