Duties and Responsibilities:

The College of Micronesia-FSM, an institution accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, is seeking a visionary, dynamic, and inspirational leader who will lead the Enrollment Management and Student Services Department. The Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Services (VPEM/SS) is the chief enrollment and student services officer of the College of Micronesia-FSM and reports directly to the President.

The Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Services is responsible for providing leadership and direction for College enrollment, retention, student success, student support services, marketing and recruitment initiatives and strategies of the College on all of its campuses The VPSS oversees the operations of: Admissions and Records, Financial Aid, Counseling, Peer Counseling, Student Life (Health Services, Resident Hall, and Sports & Recreation), Student Support Services, and the student services functions of all campuses through the vice presidents, campus directors and student services coordinators.

As member of the College of Micronesia - FSM cabinet and head of its enrollment management and student services team, the VPEM/SS is responsible for ensuring that enrollment management and student services at the college support the achievement of its vision, mission, values and goals. S/he will be responsible for leading, planning, developing, advocating and implementing a comprehensive strategic enrollment management plan to build, shape and sustain the desired student enrollment profile at the college and enhance student success.

The Vice President oversees, develops, executes, manages and assesses the Strategic Enrollment Management Plan (SEMP), implements the initiatives, policies, and procedures of all facets of strategic enrollment management (including, but being limited to, Admissions, recruitment, marketing, financial aid, registration, Student Life, Residential Life, Student Success, Student Support Services and other enrollment services). The Vice President provides leadership, oversight and quality assurance in these essential functions of the department:

  1. Enrollment Management
  2. Student Services
  3. Administration
  4. Continuous Improvement

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree required in educational administration, counseling and guidance or related field from a US accredited college. Foreign credentials must be equated to US standards using World Education Services at http://www.wes.org. Five years of progressively more responsible administrative experience in a higher education environment. Demonstrated leadership and management skills including effective communication skills and significant budgetary responsibility. Familiarity with the role of education in a developing country. Demonstrated commitment to student success, and experience in building strong student relationships. Demonstrated record of success in recruitment, admissions and other enrollment activities. Ability to manage, direct, control, implements and monitor all aspects of enrollment management and marketing operations. Strong organizational skills, work ethic and proven leadership abilities. Strong knowledge of emerging and conceptual/theoretical ideas related to enrollment management. Proven success in planning, implementing and improving a comprehensive enrollment management plan. Experience with collegiate student retention and success efforts. Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively with computerized systems to develop and monitor metrics used to measure success. Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate with excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and presentation skills, which transcend diverse audiences, including students, parents, faculty, and staff while maintaining appropriate confidentiality. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote positive working environment, spirit of cooperation, and positive reactions to change and conflict resolution with a strong commitment to continued professional development and diversity. Demonstrated motivational and problem-solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the college. Desired skills and knowledge. Enrollment management experience including development and implementation of enrollment management policy, budget development, and strategic planning. Knowledge of marketing concepts and strategic enrollment planning in a higher education environment.
