Duties:

Under the supervisor of the Coordinator, the position will perform skilled typing and highly complex senior level clerical work. Write routine business letters and report using prescribed format. Plan and carry out the program activities/meetings as assigned by supervisor. Coordinate the assigned duties for the work-study students hired by the Yap- CRE office. Prepare purchase orders, travel authorizations, and other necessary documents. Perform secretarial functions for the Yap-CRE office. Apply college procedures, regulations and policies. Serves on college committees. Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school with one year of progressive work experience in the area of work assignment. Associate of Arts/Science degree and two years of progressive work experience preferred. Successful completion of a substantially full-time clerical curriculum of a year or more technical school and which included courses in typing, basic English, arithmetic, general clerical procedures, and office machines. Work experience should demonstrate competence in assisting in the administrative details of a program/office, must have excellent organizational skills; good English language proficiency, knowledge of basic word processing, spreadsheet and database software, must be assertive, initiative, friendly, courteous and a team worker and must be willing to participate in training to upgrade skills and knowledge. Ability to work with numbers, communicates efficiently with clients, has a valid driver’s license and follows instructions well.
