Duties:

Under the direct supervision of the State Campus Dean, the incumbent will ensure successful implementation of its comprehensive plan of operation as directed by the GEAR-UP grant project. Specific duties and responsibilities include providing overall leadership in planning, developing and coordination of project goals, objectives, and all components of academic support services. Publicizes and disseminates information about the project to the general public. Selects, trains, evaluates, and supervises all GEAR-UP Program staff in accordance with established College of Micronesia-FSM Personnel policies and procedures and required Federal Regulations. Monitors budget allotment and expenditures, project output/outcomes, compile raw data and prepare required annual performance reports for US DOE/Federal Programs and COM-FSM. Develops application forms, evaluation forms, and other necessary documents to implement, monitor, and assess the effectiveness of the program. Organizes and supervises parent-teacher conferences to ensure student’ progress. Ensures compliance with college and federal regulations, policies, and procedures. Attends, state, national and regional professional development conferences/trainings. Maintains a close working relationship and coordination with partners. Disseminates information to stakeholders regarding project activities, accomplishments and etc; performs other duties as assigned. Serve on committees.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Educational Administration or related fields. Foreign credentials must be equated to meet US standards using World Education Services at http://www.wes.org. Masters degree is preferred; three years of progressively management experience OR equivalent combination of training and work experience in management, administrative or related professional work which indicates possession of knowledge and skills required to be successful in the position. Five years in Education Administration preferred. Knowledge and experience of organizational and administrative practices in educational department or institution; knowledge in designing, managing or implementing a U.S. Federally funded program; experience in bringing diverse group together; and personal experience in overcoming barriers similar to program participants. Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing; works with a minimum of supervision.
