Duties:

Provide peer health education to adolescents and youth. Participate in bi-monthly staff meetings and staff training including monthly educational in-services, workshop and seminars. Train peer educators and work-study students National to perform duties related to the mission. Lead in the development of information, education and communication (IEC) materials. Writes outlines on topics related to the peer education of COM-FSM students, high school and other students community adolescents and youth. Leads in the development and production of Public Service Announcements throughout the FSM including radio and video skits on topic related to the Peer Counseling Center Mission. Participates in awareness activities such as panel discussions, skits and cultural arts promoting health choices (development of songs related to mission.) Participate in events related to the Peer Counseling Center mission such as health fairs, alcohol and other drug awareness events, World Aids Day, Population Day activities, environmental awareness and Women’s Day and Cultural Days etc. Perform other related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from a US accredited college in Educational counseling, social science or related field; and one year of progressive responsible professional experience in providing educational services, counseling, training or other assistance to students or related groups. Foreign credentials must be equated to meet US standards using World Education Services at http://www.wes.org.. Three or more years experience working with youths preferred. Good communication skills in writing and speaking English. Capable of making plans, organize and carry out outreach activities and skits. OR any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides for the above.
