Duties:

The position is to provide the following essential responsibilities:

  1. Provides administrative and program leadership for the Center for Entrepreneurship, serving as an active supporter and proponent of the missions and goals of the Center, and representing the Center and the College of Micronesia-FSM in entrepreneurship and education locally, nationally and internationally.
  2. Develop and implement the Center’s business plan
  3. Create an undergraduate entrepreneurship program that reflects a Micronesian theme with advisors.
  4. Manage and implement the Center’s budget and develop a fundraising strategy for successive fiscal years.
  5. Assist advisors to support research activities that facilitate entrepreneurial practice in the Micronesian region.
  6. Execute an agenda of community outreach and engage local and international business partners and inviduals/organizations who advocate entrepreneurship education.
  7. Promote the Center at state and national venues to grow the Center’s reputation as a leading center for entrepreneurship.


Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Education: Master’s degree from an accredited US college or university in Business Administration or related field. Foreign credentials must be equated to meet US standards using World Education Services at http://www.wes.org
  2. Experience: Five to seven (5-7) years of experience administering and developing collaborative projects at the level of director or higher. Experience and demonstrate success in managing entrepreneurship-related activities, or at least ten (10) years of experience as an entrepreneur or assisting entrepreneurs in organizing or financing business startups.
  3. Knowledge: Strong understanding of learning and student needs in higher education
  4. Physical and/or Medical Demands: Travel with possibly heavy material for clients
  5. Desirable Qualification: Able to command the respect of colleagues, university administration, federal agencies, and other extramural funding sources. Have demonstrated fundraising ability and experience. Ability to work effectively in an administrative organization built around a consensus-building, team approach to management.
