Reporting:  The clerk Typist II reports directly to the CRE Coordinator on all matters as the immediate supervisor. Work will be assigned and instructed by the CRE Coordinator; program staff may also give tasks within the duties of the Clerk Typist and as approved by the immediate supervisor. Performance evaluation and training is to be conducted by immediate supervisor.

Duties:

Performs skilled typing and highly complex level of clerical work. Writes routine business letters and repots using prescribed format. Plans and carries out the program activities/meetings as assigned by supervisor. Coordinates the assigned duties for the work-study students at the office. Prepare purchase orders, travel authorizations, and other necessary documents. Performs secretarial functions for the Ponpei CRE office. Applies college procedures, regulations and policies. Serves on college committees and performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school with one year of progressive work experience in the area of work assignment. Associate of Arts/Science degree and two years of progressive work experience preferred. Successful completion of a substantially full-time curriculum of a year or more technical school and which included courses in typing, basic English, arithmetic, general clerical procedures, and office machines. Work experience should demonstrate competence in assisting in the administrative details of a program/office. Must have excellent organizational skills; good English language proficiency, knowledge of basic word processing, spreadsheet and database software, must be assertive, initiative, friendly, courteous and a team worker and must be willing to participate in training to upgrade skills and knowledge. Ability to work with numbers, communicates efficiently with clients, has a valid driver’s license and follows instructions well.
