Duties:

Under the general direction of the Coordinator, the Extension Agent is responsible for delivering and monitoring the Food and Nutrition Extension Program. The Extension Agent plans, organizes, and conducts nutrition workshops, meetings, and demonstrations particularly the 12 lesson Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) in the communities. Under the supervision of the CRE State Coordinator, the Extension Agent develops food and nutrition information – related brochures, publications, and other outreach materials; develop individual plan of work; provide information and management advice directly to homemakers, schools, non-governmental organizations, and interested individuals; develop collaborative efforts with Health Services Department, other government agencies, local NGO’s, mayor’s offices and homemakers in planning, organizing, workshops at the community level; evaluates effectiveness of workshops and programs, and implements suggested changes in areas of responsibilities; inputs and maintains computer database of all clients; train and assists CRE staff in area of specialty; develop own monthly Plans of Work and submits to CRE-SC for approval; prepares public service announcements for the media and TV awareness programs; generates reports on program results and accomplishments; serve on committees and perform other duties as assigned.  

Minimum Qualifications:

BA degree in the file of work from a US accredited college with four years of work experience or an AS degree with eight years of work experience in the field of work. Foreign credentials must be equated to meet US standards in the field of work using World Education Services at http://www.wes.org.  Acceptable fields include Nursing, Dietetics, Human Nutrition, Education, and Social services. The applicant must be computer literate; posses a valid driver's license; familiar with publications software; demonstrate written and oral communication skills in English and the common native language of the state.
