Duties:

Under the supervision of the system specialist, the incumbent is to provide the following services: Perform routine maintenance and repair of day-to-day of the College’s computer hardware, networking and software;  Receive setup and distribute newly arrived PCs; Report all defects found on new and old computers to supervisor as well as install/configure software assigned to certain computers; Distribute and monitor the use of computer equipment; Keep inventory of equipment and supplies; Assist with trouble shooting of software and hardware problems with staff/faculty and lab computers.  Assist students in utilizing the internet in deemed areas; Debug computer hardware and software for viruses and malware; Install/Uninstall programs according to COM-FSM Computer requirements and policies; Perform other duties as assigned; Monitor computer lab if necessary; May provide supervision, training and technical guidance to students assisting the department with software support as a part of their course work; and serve on committees.

Minimum Qualifications:

AS degree in CIS, Electronics, or Telecommunications from a US accredited college and at least 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Foreign credentials must be equated to meet US standards using World Education Services at http://www.wes.org. Demonstrated knowledge of computers & ability to work long hours. Must have experience in the use and repair of computers.  Extensive experience with Operating Systems used at the COM-FSM.  Ability to install hardware/software as instructed.  A good sense of electronic components is a plus. 

Physical & Other Requirements: Individual must be able to carry a desktop computer, have sufficient manual dexterity to work with the small components inside a computer.  Individual must demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and oral.
