Duties: Teach up to 15 contact hours per week of education content and method courses in math, science and social studies to both in-service and pre-service students. Deliver courses based on student learning outcomes as required by division’s course outlines during fall and spring semesters and the full-time equivalent during the summer using traditional and distributed learning models. Provide academic advising to students; maintain regular office hours; meet each class at scheduled time and place for the full class period; provide follow-up on students known to need additional guidance; participates in meetings and serve on committees for the department or college; recommend textbooks; present problems and recommendations to the supervisor; prepare course syllabus based on student learning outcomes and participate in curriculum assessments, development and revision; participate in professional development activities; assist with regular registration and planning of classes for each semester; attend to additional needs of the college and the community as required ( in house workshops, student activities, technical assistance, etc.), and perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Masters’ degree in elementary education or related fields from a US accredited institution with two years of college teaching experience and three years of teaching experience in elementary school classroom. Credentials earned outside the US will be considered if equated to US standards using an acceptable evaluation agency. Experience with development and assessment of student learning outcomes. Gives evidence of exemplary teaching ability, initiative and interpersonal skills. Cultural sensitivity is essential.
