Duties: Teaches no more than 12 contact hour course load each semester in Exercise Sport Science. Maintains regular office hours, develops and implements syllabi, and course-level assessment for classes. Provides academic advising to students. Collaborates closely with the College’s sports & recreation program. Assists in recruiting, evaluating and training/mentoring part-time instructors. Implements risk management processes for the division, including adapting physical activities for students with existing medical conditions or other special needs. Establishes and assess student learning outcomes. Assists with scheduling, designing and assessing division courses, maintaining the division budget, and assists with registration. Participates in College committees. Attends to additional needs of the college and the community as required ( in house workshops, student activities, technical assistance, etc.), and performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s Degree in physical education or equivalent field from a US accredited institution with two years teaching experience at the post secondary level. Primary interest in and firm commitment to the teaching/learning process in the two year college. Ability to work with diverse colleagues and students. In addition, candidates with the following skills will be given preference: Instructional design experience; Experience with program development and Student Learning Outcomes; Experience adapting courses to students with different abilities, physical or medical challenges.
