Duties: Teaches up to 15 contact hours per semester of English and ESL courses; provides academic advising to students; maintains regular office hours; meets each class at scheduled time and place for the full class period; provides follow-up on students known to need additional guidance; participates in meetings and serves on committees for the department or college; recommends textbooks; presents problems and recommendations to the supervisor; prepares course syllabus and participates in curriculum development/revision; participates in professional development activities and committee meetings; maintains a positive and cooperative working relationship; assist with regular registration and planning of classes for each semester; attends to additional needs of the college and the community as required ( in house workshops, student activities, technical assistance, etc.), and performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Master Degree in ESL/TESOL, English, Rhetoric, or Applied Linguistics or related field from a US accredited institution. Applicant must have two years of full-time teaching at the post-secondary level and experience with establishment and assessment of student learning outcomes. Two years experience teaching college level with ESL students and two years experience in living overseas from the applicant homeland is preferred. Ability to give evidence of exemplary teaching ability, initiative, interpersonal skills, and cultural sensitivity are essential.
