Class Description : This position will work under the supervision of the HR Director. Will perform work in recruitment and employee relations by performing tasks assigned. New work is received in the form of specific instructions, but most work is carried out with considerable independence. Work is reviewed through written reports, by consultation with supervisor and by observation of results obtained. Duties: Examples of work include but are not limited to the following: notification to Supervisors when evaluations are due and/or past due on a quarterly basis; prepares information for step increases and contract renewals to be typed; learns how to do personnel actions and contracts for backup purposes only; distributes evaluations, personnel actions for signature and tracks documents; writes regret letters to unsuccessful applicants who applied for positions at the college; answers inquiries from people who are interested in working at the college; checks special contracts for signed drug free form and salary placement; assists in updating list of part-time instructors on education and experience; tracks annual signing of drug free form by employees; updates personnel listing on a quarterly basis; maintain accurate information in employee’s files, assists in the recruitment/repatriation of employees including TA’s, reservations, coordination of shipping etc.; be a support person for the Personnel and Staff Development Committee and other related committees; assists in Personnel Committee policy research; updates and maintains a procedure manual for the HR Office with the assistance of the HR Director; proofreads personnel requisition forms for accuracy; assists in hiring process including reference checks; and performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in human resources or related field from a US accredited institution and two years of progressively responsible professional experiences in Human Resources or related field. Knowledge of: principles and practices of modern office management. Ability to: understand and follow complex instructions; communicate effectively; analyze, interpret, and use sound logic and judgement in application of a variety of administrative rules and regulations; work with diverse faculty, staff and students; work as part of a team in accomplishing tasks and functions. OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience which provides for the above.
