mtools: mcd
1
1 4.6 Mcd
1 =======
1
1 The `mcd' command is used to change the mtools working directory on the
1 MS-DOS disk. It uses the following syntax:
1
1 `mcd' [MSDOSDIRECTORY]
1
1 Without arguments, `mcd' reports the current device and working
1 directory. Otherwise, `mcd' changes the current device and current
1 working directory relative to an MS-DOS file system.
1
1 The environmental variable `MCWD' may be used to locate the file
1 where the device and current working directory information is stored.
1 The default is `$HOME/.mcwd'. Information in this file is ignored if
1 the file is more than 6 hours old.
1
1 `Mcd' returns 0 on success or 1 on failure.
1
1 Unlike MS-DOS versions of `CD', `mcd' can be used to change to
1 another device. It may be wise to remove old `.mcwd' files at logout.
