1 As the maintainer of GNU 'awk', I once thought that I would be able to
1 manage a collection of publicly available 'awk' programs and I even
1 solicited contributions.  Making things available on the Internet helps
1 keep the 'gawk' distribution down to manageable size.

1    The initial collection of material, such as it is, is still available
1 at <ftp://ftp.freefriends.org/arnold/Awkstuff>.

1    In the hopes of doing something more broad, I acquired the
1 'awklang.org' domain.  Late in 2017, a volunteer took on the task of
1 managing it.
