1 6 Scanning ‘configure.ac’, using ‘aclocal’

1 Automake scans the package’s ‘configure.ac’ to determine certain
1 information about the package.  Some ‘autoconf’ macros are required and
1 some variables must be defined in ‘configure.ac’.  Automake will also
1 use information from ‘configure.ac’ to further tailor its output.

1    Automake also supplies some Autoconf macros to make the maintenance
1 easier.  These macros can automatically be put into your ‘aclocal.m4’
1 using the ‘aclocal’ program.
