OPERATIONAL CHECKLIST

POHNPEI CAMPUS

  1. Offices

  1. Maintenance personnel TURN OFF main switch in electrical panel boxes.

  2. Maintenance personnel unplug all electrical equipment and appliance.

  3. Office Personnel cover all equipment and supplies with plastic.

  4. Designated personnel secure all files/ classified files.

  5. Male personnel secure window with boards.

  6. Administrators handle communications:

  1. With Disaster Control (FSM).

  2. With Disaster Control (Pohnpei).

  3. With Disaster Control (COM-FSM).

  4. With Security (L&R Security Services).

  1. Activate Security (MUST) and Maintenance Personnel

  2. Activate Janitorial Service (IF NECESSARY).

  1. Student Services

  1. Put the computer and monitor in a box and put it on a 6” plat-form away from the window.

  2. Put all the sports equipment in a box and also place in on the plat-form.

  3. Lock all the files in the desk drawer.

  4. Give all the snack bar money to the director.

  5. Shut all the windows tight.

  1. Snack Bar

  1. Put all the snacks and drinks in a box.

  2. Turn the refrigerator off and take it away from the window.

  3. Unplug the coffee-pot and put it on the floor.

  4. Turn the self around to face the wall.

  5. Turn the light-off.

  1. Recreation Room

  1. Put the radio (system) in a box and put it in the Student Services Office.

  2. Put the pool-balls in a box and lock it in the desk drawer.

  3. Tape the Q-sticks together and put then in the Student Services Office.

  4. Put all the weights on the floor.

  5. Wrap or cover the pool table with a waterproof tarp.

  6. Lock the windows, doors, and turn all the electrical switches off.

  1. Computer Stock Room

  1. Put all the computers and monitors in boxes and leave them on a plat-form to keep water from seeping into the boxes. The plat-form needs to be in the middle of the room and only six inches above the floor to keep the water out and the wind from blowing things over.

  2. Shut all the windows, doors, and lights off.

  1. Furniture Store Room

  1. Shut all the windows and doors.

  2. Put everything down on the floor so that nothing falls and breaks.

  3. Put all the fragile items in a secure spot in the room.

  4. Turn the switches off.

  1. The Recreation Building

  1. Tie the roof down with ropes.

  2. Shut all the windows and doors.

  3. Shut the main switch off.

  4. Ensure that there is ample supply of kerosene or gas available or in stock for cooking food in case the island power is out during the disaster. (Cafeteria Manager)

  4. Store adequate supply of drinking water for dorm residents (dorm manager and houseparents)

  5. Coordinate the feeding of program and dorm residents during disaster with cafeteria manager (dorm manager)

  6. Cut down trees outside the dorm (maintenance crew) if necessary

  7. Provide first aid kits and non-prescribed medications for dorm residents (nurse)
